Horse-drawn tram (towards the district) Sloten. Sloten is a suburban district of Amsterdam where the horse-drawn tram has been preserved, since the construction of a transport telecommunications line proved too expensive. In Amsterdam, tram service was already established in 1900. Sloten, which was annexed to Amsterdam in 1921, returned the horse-drawn tram to it, which had ceased to exist in the city itself in 1906.
