A ten-foot concrete statue, "The Helmsman," stands in Burton Chace Park, Marina del Rey, overlooking the main channel. Originally a symbol of Helms Bakery, the hunched figure grips a wooden helm with a determined expression. Donated by the Helms family in 1971, its helm was replaced in 1975 thanks to local yacht clubs.
