Mírkov, chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, ruins of the chapel, 1977

The nave of the chapel, built in a pseudo-Romanesque style around 1800 on the site of a former hermitage carved into the rock, was demolished in 1977. The rock-hewn presbytery remains, with some later additions. The chapel's tower was destroyed earlier, in 1975. The interior furnishings were destroyed by soldiers prior to the demolition. A pile of rubble marks the site of the nave. The chapel's land belongs to the municipality of Povrly.
