The nave of the chapel, built against a sandstone cliff face around 1800 on the site of a former hermitage, was demolished in 1977, leaving only the rock-hewn presbytery and a pile of rubble. The tower was destroyed earlier, in 1975. The furnishings were destroyed by soldiers prior to the demolition. The remaining presbytery, partially rebuilt with masonry, stands at a scenic viewpoint about half a kilometer south of the settlement.
