Mírkov, Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, 1975

The nave, originally built against a sandstone cliff with its rear section carved into the rock, was demolished in 1977. The rock-hewn presbytery remains, with some later additions to its stonework. This pseudo-Romanesque chapel, built on a scenic viewpoint about half a kilometer south of the settlement, replaced a hermitage carved into the rock after 1800. A large pile of rubble (sandstone and bricks) marks the nave's location; the front left corner survives to a height of about 1.2 meters. The chapel is not registered in the land registry; the land belongs to the municipality of Povrly.
