Singapore

The photo captures the unveiling ceremony of the Sir Stamford Raffles statue, Singapore's founder. The Grand Hotel de l'Europe, later replaced by the Supreme Court building in 1939, is visible to the right of Memorial Hall. A marble replica of this statue stands near the Asian Civilisations Museum, facing the Singapore River with its back to Boat Quay.
