St. Barbara's Chapel, originally built in 1888 on present-day Českobratrská Street by František Jureček Sr., replaced the demolished Foltýn Chapel. Built in the then-modern Industrial Secession style, it was dedicated to Our Lady of Częstochowa, reflecting the influx of Galician workers. Falling into disrepair, the chapel faced demolition in 1991.
