St. Barbara's Chapel, originally built in 1888 on present-day Českobratrská Street by František Jureček Sr., replaced the demolished Foltýn Chapel. Built in the then-modern Industrial Secession style, it was dedicated to Our Lady of Częstochowa, reflecting the influx of Galician workers. Falling into disrepair, the chapel faced demolition in 1991. However, the Friends of the OKD Mining Museum initiated its restoration and relocation to the museum grounds at the former Anselm mine in Petřkovic.. Read more »
