The Jewish cemetery, founded in 1872 and used until 1965 (with approximately 6,000 burials), was gradually liquidated from 1983 onwards. After 1988, the ceremonial hall (designed by Viennese architect R. Strassmann) was also demolished. Dr. Milada Horáková Park now occupies the site.
