The American Hotel, located on Leidseplein, one of Amsterdam's most famous squares alongside Dam Square and Rembrandtplein, is known for its entertainment and nightlife. The original hotel, built in 1881, was replaced 20 years later with the current Art Nouveau structure designed by Willem Kromhout and H.G. Jansen.
