Late Gothic monastery church of the White Magdalenites, Augustinian order. Built late 15th century, burned down 1515, re-consecrated October 20, 1515. In 1756, Johann Gottfried Schmidl bequeathed 3000 gold coins for a new church, which remained unfinished after the order's dissolution. Damaged by fire in 1769, the Church of the Seven Joys of the Virgin Mary was rebuilt by the Magdalenites, completed 1774. The monastery was dissolved by Joseph II in 1782. Piarists occupied the church and monas.. Read more »tery from 1783 to 1876. Baroquized in the late 18th century. Single-nave, oriented structure with oblong nave and five-sided presbytery. Exterior walls articulated by pilasters supporting an architrave and profiled cornice. Interior with a flat vault. Remains of a late Gothic gallery in the west nave. Late Gothic portal (1520-1530) in the north wall. Furnishings mainly 18th century. High altar (late 18th century) temporarily housed at Jezeří Chateau; altarpiece (Nativity) by Ignác Raab (1715-1787) in the Most District Museum. Frescoes (1773) by Jan Václav Tschöpper (1728-1810) whitewashed in 1959 when the Orthodox Church took over. Demolished in 1972 during Most's liquidation.
