Two neighboring townhouses on East 72nd Street have interesting histories. Number 9, once home to Henry T. and Jessie Sloane, then James Stillman, later housed the Lycée Français de New York. Number 7, originally the residence of Oliver Gould and Mary Brewster Jennings, also later became part of the Lycée Français de New York.
