Built in the late 19th century by Baku millionaire Haji Hashim bey Karimov (grandfather of Bahram Mansurov) as a warehouse, this building was later converted into the "Mikado" Cinema by his son, Aligaydar bey. During the Soviet era, it became the "Workers' Theatre" and eventually housed the Samad Vurgun Russian Drama Theatre. The blend of Art Nouveau, Japanese architecture, and Constructivist elements created a unique structure. The building has since been demolished.
