Nýřany, synagogue, 1938

nýřany-synagogue-43372

The synagogue, a classical-style building erected in the late 19th century, was burned down by the Nazis during Kristallnacht (November 10, 1938). The remaining walls were demolished in 1939. Today, a small park with benches and trees occupies the site; no marker commemorates the synagogue.
