Officials in Compton and Willowbrook are working to rerail seven Southern Pacific freight cars, one a butane tanker, whose derailment prompted the evacuation of five blocks in downtown Compton. The tanker contains 30,000 gallons of flammable butane. Photo taken December 15, 1986.
