This photo, taken from Los Angeles City Hall tower, looks southwest toward Bunker Hill (center). Downtown redevelopment is still underway, evidenced by vacant lots between 1st and 4th Streets off Grand Avenue. A temporary parking structure is being assembled at 1st and Grand. Further south stand "The Castle" and "The Saltbox," Bunker Hill's last two historic homes. At the time of this photo, they were still awaiting relocation to Heritage Square Museum, where they were later destroyed by fire.. Read more »
