The Odessa Polytechnic Institute was dissolved by a decree of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic Council of People's Commissars on June 12, 1930. Specialized universities were subsequently established based on its faculties, including the Institute of Civil and Municipal Engineering, formed from its engineering and construction faculty.
