Pole of Inaccessibility Station, 1958-1967
Reporting: On December 14th, 1958, at 2:45 PM Moscow time, a tractor train arrived at the Pole of Inaccessibility in Antarctica, having covered approximately 2200 km from Mirny Station over snowdrifts at altitudes up to 4000 m, conducting scientific research, including seismic and gravimetric studies. All personnel are healthy. A station for episodic scientific observations and a base for inland expeditions has been established at 82°06' South, 55°00' East, at an altitude of 3710 m above sea level. A prefabricated shelter for 4 people is equipped with a radio station (call sign RSON), a generator, a weather station (index 89555), an electric kitchen, and provisions and fuel for 2-3 months. A 60-meter borehole exists at the station. Currently, meteorological, actinometric, magnetic, glaciological, and seismic studies are being conducted. A skiway is under preparation. The USSR national flag has been raised on a mast, and a bust of Lenin has been placed on an elevated platform near the shelter. Tolstikov.

Island of Peter I. Expedition-occupation "Norway", 1929
The island was discovered on January 11 (old style) 1821 by a Russian expedition under the command of F. F. Bellingshausen and named in honor of the creator of the Russian fleet - Emperor Peter I. Due to the solid ice covering the sea, the ships of the expedition were not able to get closer to the island, than 14 nautical miles (26 km), so it was not possible to land. People first set foot on Peter I Island only 108 years after its discovery. On February 2, 1929, members of the Norwegian polar expedition landed on the island on the ship “Norway”. They planted the Norwegian flag and declared that the island belonged to Norway. In 1931, this claim was confirmed by the Norwegian parliament. However, it is located south of 60° south latitude - in an area in which territorial claims are not recognized by most states. http: ru.m.wikipedia.org wiki Petra_I Island
