Constructed between 1884 and 1890 by the Florida Town Company, this building served as a rooming house under S.T. White's ownership, later becoming the White House Hotel under C.C. Whidden. The highest Indian shell mound in Cedar Key lies beneath the structure.

The White House Annex, located on 2nd Street near E Street in Cedar Key, Florida, was constructed by the Florida Town Company between 1884 and 1890. Originally used as a rooming house by owner S.T. White, it later became the White House Hotel under the ownership of C.C. Whidden. The building stands atop Cedar Key's highest Indian shell midden.
