The Soviet embassy building in the GDR was officially opened on November 7, 1951. It was constructed between 1949 and 1951, based on a design by architects Anatoly Strizhevsky and Fritz Bornemann. The construction was overseen by A. Sirin, V. Bushkovsky, N. Vorobyov, and German specialists Siechert and Skuin.
