The chase on George Washington Bridge from The Seven Ups, 1973
One of the best car chases in American cinema is in the film "Seven Ups" (1973), where the main role is played by actor Roy Scheider, a police officer from an elite squad fighting mafia clans in the city. The car chase in terms of audacity and professionalism of the stuntmen is perhaps comparable to the chase from the film "Bullitt" (1968) and "The French Connection" (1971). In the center of the photo is a 1973 Pontiac Grand Ville, driven by stuntman Bill Hickman, who had previously done car stunts in a Dodge Charger in the film Bullitt. The criminals are trying to escape from the pursuit of the police officer, in a chase that began on the streets of New York, in the western end of Manhattan and led them to the George Washington Bridge in the direction of New Jersey.
